The story
A whole school, lifted in a single morning
Under a covered court ringed by coconut palms, 412 children sat waiting — some in slippers, some barefoot, all of them quiet with that careful hope of a child who has learned not to expect too much. Then, one by one, every single one of them was handed a pack of notebooks, writing pads and pens. You could watch it happen on their faces: the small disbelief, then the grin, then the way they held the bag a little tighter, like it might disappear.
For a child here, that bag is not stationery. It's the difference between dropping out and staying in school. It's a parent who doesn't have to choose between supplies and supper. It's being told, without words, you matter, and your future matters.
And it was never just a hand-out. There was music. There was dancing. There was laughter ringing off the tin roof. Nizi gave out every pack himself, met every shy smile with one of his own, and stayed until the last child had something in their hands — turning a quiet morning into a day 412 kids will remember.
